Welcome to our Palmer Reunion/Palmer Press Site

This branch of the family has been gathering every July 4th since 1898, with the exception of 1945 and 1972.

Next Reunion

July 4th, 2018, at Little Buffalo State Park (Pavilion A) near Lewistown, PA. Meal at noon - bring a side or dessert to share at the buffet. There will be ham provided. Some of us drive quite a distance so we may start a little later!

After our meal, we'll have door prizes, a family meeting, and games for the kids. There is a beautiful swimming pool at the park as well as a lake for fishing and boating. Some folks are sure to play card or board games before cleaning up the left-overs at dinner time!

If you'd like to see the reunion take place at Knoebel's again or anywhere else, please come to the meeting or have another family member share your ideas.

2019 Reunion - 120 years since the first reunion. Any ideas for something special?

The bar on the left lists areas you can explore. They include:

Family Tree

This section begins with the first generation we have documented, that of John Palmer b. 1773, listed as born in Pennsylvania in the 1850 and 1860 US Census, although family oral history has always been that he was born in Scotland. Interesting fact is that his wife, Mary Dell, was listed as born in Ireland on the same Census listings.

Image Gallery

This will be a gallery of images of our ancestors.

Palmer Press

For a number of years, a member of the family published a newsletter annually covering events and announcements, and included the minutes from the annual reunion as well as interesting details from previous reunions

Previous Reunions

I hope to use this area to share family photos from reunions, organized by year, where we can remember and reminisce about previous gatherings.

News:  Looking to hear from anyone who is connected to our family tree.  Much of the information listed here has come from the great genealogical works of Neil Barber. We would love to hear from our Maryland branch as well as other Barbers from the Milton area.
